NEX5 Focus Error / Glitch

When I shoot with Face Detection or Center Focus, the AF sometimes focus on the background instead of the subject when the focus bracket is bigger than the subject's head (which is the point of focus). Is anybody else having this issue or is there something wrong with my camera? Thanks.
