Nikon SB-800 problems

Thanks in advance for any help on this issue.

My Nikon SB-800 flash suddenly started not putting out enough power. It flashes fine but seems to be not putting out the power that it was up till now...all my flash photos have a dark, funky look to them.

It appears not to be the camera as I tried the flash on my old D-70 and I found the same problem.

Any advice?

Do these flashes have bulbs/elements that can need replacing?

Anybody have similar experience with this flash?
