XZ-1 OLED Screen Question

Was in store today checking out the XZ-1 again, but still only 95% of the way there. Put me over the top with the final 5% of decision making by answering this.

The floor model seemed to have very poor black levels on the OLED display. In other words, blacks were not black but were washed out. This no doubt has nothing to do with photo quality, but wondering if other XZ-1 owners can solve this for me? I also hit Reset to all factory settings.

Or maybe it's my aging eyes? Thanks.
