I don't use DPP, but have. I find I can do everything in LR that I can do in DPP and a lot more. Noise reduction in LR is as good as it gets. I no longer use Neat Image for that. Thre is a great gradient tool. Selective saturation and luminescence are great tools, not available inDPP. Beyond that, remember that LR is also a data base. The other day, I wanted to paste a picture of a model onto a cherry blossom scene. A quick search on my key work "cherry blossom" turned up a screen of thumbnails of all of the pictures of cherry blossoms I have taken over the years.

I will point out that there is a learning curve. One great help is Micheal Reichman's 8 hour tutorial available from http://www.luminous-landscape.com for $50.00.
