Nikon 17-55m f2.8 or Sigma 17-50mm f2.8
Sep 12, 2011

Hi Folks,

Looking for some help on deciding between these 2 lenses. My typical photo shooting is:
1) Indoor with family typically targeting candid shots or short videos
2) Outdoor with family at picnics, theme parks etc

I like being able to get my shots soon as I click the shutter, being not very good at anticipating shots, so quick focus and minimum lag is important to me. Generally take good care of my equipment, no rough usage. Even though I am far from a professional I generally have a critical eye. So, if I shoot a brick wall and can visibly tell that the four corners are converging that will bug me.

My camera is D7000 and my other lens is Nikon 18-200mm F3.5-5.6. I love this lens but find it inadequate for indoor flash free shooting hence looking for a f2.8 to complement this.

Thanks for input.
