Re: Best waterproof camera

Thanks. One more question. I want something that I can still shoot in downpours and heavy snow for the coming winter. Are the TS models weatherproof or is it more for just summer diving?

The TX5 for example you are supposed to bath it in a bowl of water but never run it under running water under a tap. So are these cameras made to be weather proof in heavy snow or heavy rain? Or should I just get a raincoat cover instead?

So what is the consensus? TS1, TS2, or the new TS3 as best waterproof camera?

The TS3 should be a no brainer but the Sony TX10 ended worse than the TX5 and the ZS8 licks compared to the ZS7 so I need a consensus before I decide on which Panasonic to buy.

TS3 (FT3) is best ever underwater camera! And not only in comparison between TS1, TS2 and TS3, but in comparison among all cameras in this class!

All Panasonic DMC-TS (FT) cameras has excellent IQ (for this type of cameras, ofcourse), but TS1 has some issues with zoom buttons (and it is only 3 meters waterproof!), TS2 is very good, but significantly slower than TS3, which is very fast, almost like an DSLR camera.

This is my opinion, after I owned 11 cameras of this type ( http://public.fotki.com/Primoz/my-underwater-cameras/ ) and had the opportunity to test all other cameras (Canon, Olympus, Pentax, Sony, Panasonic).

You can always check my photos and video taken with these cameras:
