I love primes and need some wider prime for my D300s. I was about to pull the trigger on a Nikkor 24mm 2.8D (can't afford the 1.4), but I read a couple of reviews (lenstips, photozone, slrgear...etc.) and seems that the 24 2.8D offers the same performance as the Tamron 17-50 at 24mm. And a new Tamron costs only 100 USD more than a used 24 2.8D (in my country).

So what do you think, is a used 24 2.8D any better than a new Tamron 17-50 2.8 (apart from the fact that it is smaller in size)?
