Nikon 17-35mm with faulty AF

What is a used Nikon 17-35mm AFS in Exc++ condition but with intermittent AF worth? For a landscape lens would it still be usable in MF only?
I have seen one for £399 and wondered if the glass was worth it.
Opinions?
