sensor cleaning
Aug 23, 2011

I deluded myself into thinking if I was very careful about taking body cap off M9 and mounting lens, I wouldn't have any problem with dust on the sensor. Discharging static, not moving much in a room with no airflow and leaving the lens on once mounted would have been enough, I thought. The 50mm Summicron I placed on the body hasn't come off since the day it arrived. Well, CRAP! I have dust spots. Didn't notice them until yesterday outside on a shot at f16 with a lot of sky.

So, what to do? I have a Rocket Air Blower on order from B&H. Anything peculiar to be watchful for when attempting this for the first time?

Is this essentially the same as cleaning sensor on any other digital camera, say something like a Nikon D700?

Thanks,

L
