D7000 problem wih AF-S Nikkor 28-70MM f2.8 D lens
Aug 20, 2011

Hi:

I just bought a used AF-S Nikkor 28-70MM f2.8 D SWM internal focus motor lens. The lens worked fine on my D7000 when I bought it, it worked fine for the next day and then it quit autofocusing that night. I did the diagnostics, clean the contacts, lock the AP ring at f22, try it on my D40, fire the lens up at each focusing extreme...nothing worked. Called Nikon and filled out the report to send it in for repair. Met up the next day with the guy I bought it from (it always worked perfectly for him) and we put it on his D7000 and it worked just fine. I then put it on my D7000 and it worked fine for 1 day and then it quit auto focusing again. Does anyone have any idea where I should go from here, is it the lens, or my camera or both? All of my other lenses work perfectly on my D7000. Any ideas?

Don
