Sold my HX100V and bought a HS20EXR

Here are the reasons why:

Pros HS20EXR:

  • much more wideangle (less then 23mm in 135 equiv.)

  • better IQ at details in EXR mode (grean meadows don't look like carpets)

  • much better and more realistic colors (no blue cast)

  • RAW

  • manual zoom (doesn't reset, if camera switches off)

  • much more external controls (ISO, WB, RAW, ...)

  • looooong battery life

  • much better DR in EXR mode

  • images are much better for post processing

  • no watercolor look

  • 3:2 aspect ratio

  • filter thread

What I miss:

  • much much better IS in HX100V

  • much much better video mode in HX100V

But the pros above are worth the change.

For videos and snapshots and as a travel companion I have an HX9V. So there is not too much to miss anymore.

Regards

Ralf
