How do you define success?
Aug 14, 2011

There was some debate in another thread, at times heated, that seemed to revolve around success - but that depends on your definition of success - which can be a moving target as you get more "successful".

Getting a paying client can be a success or making $1 million dollars. Some consider 'happiness' to be their definition of success.

But as this a pro photo forum the definition used here should be somewhere in the middle. Winning an award or gaining recognition would mean you are a successful photographer, making a pile o' money but never snapping a shot yourself (hired guns) would mean you are a business success. If you meet your goals, is that enough to be considered a success, at least in your mind?

When you seek to learn something, ask advice, etc, I assume you seek out 'successful' photographers rather than un-sucessful what to you makes a successful photographer?
