I had the Voigtlander Nokton f1.1 as an intermediate step. It's a surprisingly good lens for the money. I've heard that you can get good and bad copies but mine seemed spot on. Naturally there's much more to a lens than just simply it's aperture value - one huge factor not to overlook when we start getting distracted by f numbers are the optics. Leica uses some amazing glass in the Noctilux and the construction is also amazing. Comparing images shot on the Nokton with the Noctilux is practically nonsensical - it would be like comparing a Rolls Royce with a Lada! The Nokton is a good lens though and for that price bracket, I would recommend it - just make sure you try a few out and get a good one. It doesn't compare though.

As far as the yet to be released Noctor, I guess we need to wait and see what it's like. However, this will probably be another CCTV type camera lens that's been modified with a fancy paint job and a mount. Their last product (for m4/3) wasn't a god lens, so purely by past performance, I wouldn't hold my breath. As I said though, we really should wait and see as they might have made something usable.
