Got my Nikon D5100, have a couple questions/issues!

I got my Nikon D5100 kit from Amazon today. Initial impression are good, although I have not yet been able to shoot it extensively.

I noticed two issues and just want to know if others have noticed the same:

1. The SD card slot is a bit tight. Sometimes when I take the SD card out or put it in, it does not go in smoothly. This is intermittent though. Has anyone noticed that?

2. Also I noticed that the flash (built-in) is a bit on the weak side. Don't get me wrong, it is not terribly dim, but seems a bit muted when I compare it with P&S Canon cameras that I have had experience with. I had to bump up the compensation by +0.3.
