Silver Efex - 1930's C&C and Play

Hi Gang,

I'm learning to use SEP 2 & trying for a vintage look. I'm hoping the more experienced types here can help me improve. I've attached my attempts, including the original. It's not the sharpest photo by a long shot. It was taken in 2006 with a Canon PowerShot SD400. I loved that little camera. This shot was taken while on location filming a commercial.

I welcome C&C and if any of you feel inclined to have a play, I'd love to see your results and any notes you'd like to share.

1st try - too dark but I do like the added depth of the blacks:

2nd try - with sepia but IMO, too sharp for a vintage feel:
