Cold challenge: Congratulations to the winners!

Congratulations to all the winners of the Cold challenge. Almost from the start the top two winners were fighting for the first spot, changing places. Both excellent, with the entry by millsjc:

being my narrow favorite because of its stark simplicity, so fitting the theme of the challenge. In the end it was an incredible finish, with only a twenty five thousand of a point separating the two (and I believe anything less than .020 is considered a draw, so we missed having a split first place - how many times has that happened? - by a width of a hair).

I liked a lot as well. It possessed some of the same characteristics as the previously mentioned one by millsjc.

had a very effective, painterly color combination.

All in all, a lot of great entries.

Of course, as in any challenge, we had some strange voting as well. One bizarre spite vote of 98 0.5s, and some votes raising possible questions. Two voter IDs were passed to the admin.
