Sigma 17-70mm lens instead of Kit Lens with K-r -- Bad Idea?
Aug 7, 2011

I recently purchased, after a ton of research, the K-r (supposedly rated with the best image quality in its price range), and decided to get a nice macro HSM Sigma with a convenient focal range instead of the kit lens. However, I'm starting to worry if that wasn't worth the money. I'm sure it feels more solid than the kit would have, and maybe it does even produce marginally better color and clarity -- but the kit would have been an additional $70, and this was $450! I'm pretty sure I could still return it (even though I've been using it the past month), or sell it. Was this a bad move? Maybe I just succumbed to the whole kit-lens-phobia thing...
