Nikon dSLRs 2011
Aug 3, 2011

Since the D50-D2X era, Nikon have had 5-6 bodies in the range.

The Nikon D300s, D700, D3s, and D3x are due for replacement. This is how I see the new line-up of dSLR bodies.

The D7000 shares a lot with the D90/D300s and replaces both.

The D2 form of camera is missing from the DX range (at the moment), and that will return with the new Nikon D9000.

What name can we give the D700/D3s replacement?

this is re-drawn from the chart at the bottom of this page (I see some of the bodies as replacements instead of new lines, so my diagram is a little different)
