New to 35L, need advice

I replaced my 50/1.4 with this 35L months ago. I have to say it again which was repeated many times, this is a fantastic lens indeed, in terms of the colour, speed of focus, size and handling on my 5DII. I am very happy with the decision.

But since I am from 50/1.4 which i used to have, so I am obviously lost sometimes when I use this great 35L to compose my portrait shoot compare the feeling what I have had with 50/1.4.

I would be very appreciate to hear some advice and comments from this 35L owner who is also shooting portrait with it. I need to learn from your own experience, thanks.
