my 50mm 1.8 is not focusing correctly

my beloved 50mm 1.8 is acting up lately and doesnt focus properly. I usually use it for portraits. if I focus far away first , then to my subject, the focus is correct. But if I focus close, then to my subject, the lens backfocus greatly.
does any of you had the same issue?
if it is a hardware issue as I guess it is, is it possible to fix it?
