First photos with my K-x today, critique highly appreciated

So I finally got my white K-x today after waiting 23 days to get it (Thanks, Woot).

In the evening I drove around in El Dorado county along CA Highway 50 E and visited side roads in hopes of finding good spots for taking pictures. And I found some.

This being my first DSLR, I might have broken few rules of photography, but let me know what you guys think.

I am new to PP too, so I basically just Auto Toned/contrast/color the ones that felt good and left other ones alone and applied some UM to them.

This is my first time trying the follow the subject capture, came out better than I expected.
