I can only comment on the SWD version. I love this lens but it seems to have reliability issues or at least mine has. Over a year ago and out of warranty, it failed. The SWD motors were replaced. It worked fine. Recently, we were overseas. I took the 12-60 and the 50mm and left the 50-200 at home. When I got home, the 50-200 had probably not been used for about 2 months. When I tried it, it was sluggish then stopped altogether. I took it in for another repair. 7 days later, I had it back with the motors replaced again. It was over a year since the motors were replaced before but Oly hospital didn't charge me. Hats off to Olympus Australia for exemplary service. I have never been disappointed with them yet. The point being, that with the 50-200 SWD there may be a trade-off between the performance and reliability. However, this is only one example. I don't know if others have had similar issues. This lens may one that does not like to sit idle for any length of time.
