Nikon D90 and D5100

I am looking into buying my 1st DSLR. I always wanted to buy the D90 ever since it came out, and that was about 3 years ago. Also looking at the D5100 which i was told sharing few components from the D7000 which is replacing the D90. So my question is should I go with D90 or D5100? Also any Recommendation on the stranded lens for the D5100?
