I noted the apertures for each picture and they are quite typical.

Where do you focus?

Depends, often around the hyperfocal distance, but sometimes on the background if this is the most important and DOF would be adequate.

Very nice pics! I really like the tonality and the lighting on the ground... I guess I will have to start waking up earlier!!

Thanks Yes, it is important to get out early and before sunrise on location.
