How to remove the Lightroom magenta cast!
Jul 26, 2011

So, if like me you've spent the last millennia trying to figure out how to remove the magenta cast from Lightroom including trying several calibration methods, various skin presets and have googled every conceivable variation of 'Remove Magenta Cast from Lightroom' then this post is for you.

I use all the standard Lightroom development settings except I use the Invariant Canon Standard profile for my Canon 5D II's as my colour profile (not that this shouldn't also work with the Adobe profiles). For info on this see this link - http://www.nikplayer.com/2010/12/lightroom-33-invariant-untwisted-camera.html

I got this tip from a Sony A700 post but the settings also work on my 5D 2's using the above profile as well. To remove the Magenta cast, simply drill down to the 'camera calibration' section and dial in the following settings;

Red Hue - +4
Red Sat - -4
Blue Hue - +10
Blue Sat - -6

That's it! If your happy with the settings, set these as default.

Hope you find this as useful as I haveā€¦

Enjoy!
