Straight Horizon - Does it Work Here?
Jul 26, 2011

We all know the rule of thirds...and it is meant to be broken. I have looked back over my dozens of landscape photos and realized that I always place the horizon at the top third and the landscape at the bottom third...its getting boring!
Does the "amateurish" half sky/half landscape work in this case, or would another composition be more effective? I was experimenting with both in the sunflower field but thought there was an interesting balance to this one. I also chose not to include a foreground element in this photo which something unusual for me. Thanks for looking and your opinions.
