Interesting comment here - I have not noticed any zoom creep at all with my 17-55. It has been my "95% mounted" lens for the last 3+ years. In fact, I think the zoom ring is a bit too firm on mine. Perhaps I'll spray a little WD40 in there...

(and, no, I'm not stupid enough to try WD40 on a thousand dollar lens....)
