When you will stop with "35mm equivalent" terms ?
Jul 20, 2011

I'm wondering, when will pentax users stop using FF terms in regard to a focal length of a lens? When will they stop using term "35mm equivalent FL"? I mean, If Pentax expressed themselfs as a APS DSLR maker (and NOT FF) then I find excessive to use 35mm terms anymore.

You can read on many places on this forum that users say "50mm on PENTAX is equivalent to a 75mm on a FF camera".....why you compare it anymore with FF? There is no Pentax FF camera currently produced. So it really does not make any sense, other than confusing newbie users.

On the other hand, If You still are using FF or 35mm (equivalent) terms, than that means that FF or 35mm still IS standard format for DSLRs and is probably that once all DSLRs will be FF. I want that to happen ASAP because it is the obvious way in DSLR future.
Sorry for my language, English is not my primary language.
