Tamron 28-75 for Ring Exchange

Hello - I usually shoot the wedding ceremony with a Tamron 18-270 f3.5-6.3 when flash is permitted in a church. I am thinking of getting the Tamron 28-75 f2.8 in cases where flash is NOT permitted.
My question is: is the 75mm focal length long enough to zoom in on a ring exchange?
