Comparing the Canon 18-55 with the 18-200, why does the 18-55 feel so cheap?

I'd like to see your pictures that show it's a terrible lens, optically speaking. I have tried to get the 18-200IS to give me terrible pictures and failed. They all come out good.

I don't get what could be bad about the lens "from a practical point of view" as a one lens does it all solution is very practical and is the main reason why I travel with the 18-200IS lens, leaving the optically excellent 17-55IS f/2.8 at home.

The only impractical thing about this lens is the zoom creep. (It does have a lock switch for storage though.)

The 18-200 cost $560??? That's a ridiculous price for a terrible lens, both optically speaking and from a practical point of view.
