rapid cycling slave or strobe controller
Jul 15, 2011

I tried a search with no results...perhaps too many terms.

I would like to synchronize 4 strobes (2 Nikon SB 28's and 2 SB 800's) in a rapid cycling burst of 100 hz (I can get 24 flashes but only at 1/64th power....which is why I need 4 firing).

If I initiate all 4 with a single starting trigger...they cycle independently after the first flash and do not stay in synch. I tried.

I need either 1) a single source 100 hz initiating trigger which can be then linked to all 4 flashes........OR initiate one strobe at 100 hz nd drive the other three in single flash mode from that...most easily possibly by means of a slave. With the two slaves I have tried there seems to be a problem getting the slave to rapid cycle....can't drive the slave strobe faster than about 10 hz.

Does anyone know of a general rapid cycling strobe trigger OR a slave trigger with rapid cycling capacity.....or some other solution.

Thanks for your thoughts.
