X100 dirty lens syndrome
Jul 14, 2011
|
I noticed my pictures were getting a very hazy, especially when taking photos with a light source or strong reflection in the frame. Initially puzzled, I looked at the lens and noticed a couple of finger prints - probably from the kids.
However it wasn't that bad (certainly no worse than the lenses on my dslr when I had it), but sure enough on cleaning, the quality improved markedly.
I can only assume that as the part of the lens actually used is quite small, any smudges must have a high impact.
So I guess the moral is, clean the lens regularly.
Kind regards,
Alistair
