Stick to the DMW-LWA52 if you want IQ

After trying a few experiments there is something to be aware of with these adapters - the spacing between the front of the lens of the LX5 and the converter lens is quite important for image quality.

If you have it right, the image will be OK to to corners. But if it's not right you will find the image is not just soft but can be quite blurry - and also there may be severe vignetting in the corners if they weren't designed for a lens as wide as that on the LX5.

Basically what that means is that if you want a nice photo you'll have to crop it, which somewhat defeats the purpose of an ultrawide adapter.

BTW this is also the reason why zooming with the adapter on - even the DMW-LWA52 - isn't a smart idea - the image will be soft in the corners.

Pay for the the DMW-LWA52 and you will get what you expect from a Leica lens. Sharp to the corners and no vignetting and all at f/2.
