Asus PA246Q
Jul 8, 2011

After reading at least a million posts on "what is the perfect screen for photography", I've decided to buy the Asus PA246Q.

I've received mine yesterday. I used a mini-display port to display port to connect my MacBook pro (latest model) to thedisplay port input of the screen. When I try to set up the screen using the OSD, I first saw that I don't have access to the mode "sRGB" and "AdobeRGB". They are there be they are "grayed". It seems that the sRGB mode of the screen is very good and I'm very upset not to have access to it. The colors looks fine, like on the Macbook screen but not better (yet).

Using a mini-DP-> VGA cable, I have access to the sRGB and AdobeRGB mode but who cares about VGA?

I tried to calibrate the screen using a Spyder 3 pro with the software Spyder3Pro 4.0.2 Macintosh and the calibration was just awful...

What do I do wrong? Is anybody had problems with their Mac and the Asus screen?

Please help me. I paid it like 550 euros and I don't want a mediocre screen.

Thanks
Vincent
