How to AF fine tune?
Jul 7, 2011

I haven't been getting the results I want from the d7k + 50mm f/1.8 and I want to fine tune it. I have printed out a focus chart but every single time I lay it at 45 degrees, it front focuses even at +20. Is the angle too small or do I have major front focusing issues? I have also tried shooting the focus chart perpendicular to the camera. However, I am finding it very difficult to identify at what value the chart is the sharpest at increments of 5. Would anyone be interested in examining them?
I am shooting on a tripod, in sunlight, with the camera on timer mode, at f/1.8 and 1/8000s, in Aperture mode, with AF-S.
Are there any more methods out there?
