Buying Pan 14-140mm lens question

I'm pretty sure I want to buy the Panasonic 14-140mm lens to replace the 14-42mm kit lens that came with my G3.
Is the GH1 14-140mm kit lens any different than the 14-140mm lens that I'd buy on its own?
It looks like I an buy a GH1 with the 14-140mm lens for about $600 used, or the lens itself for around $800.
What's up with that? Could I sell a GH1 body with the 14-42mm lens??
