Canon Pixma 9500 MKII - Printing on CD's

I was wondering if any one here has any experience using the 9500 printing on CD/DVD's? I've found a webpage "Damn printer" which gives instructions offers software and sell a CD/DVD trays on Ebay. Reading through some of the comments I see more complaints the complements.
Mostly issues with trying to get everything to work after the driver has be installed. Currently I use lightscribe CD/DVD's which works well for me and I wanted to try creating CD/DVD's with some color.
I also read that Canon no longer supports printing on CD/DVD's with the 9500 anymore, which I would imagine must be true, I can't find any info via canon (all though I have not tried the tech support, yet).
Are there any other reliable options printing color CD/DVD's at home besides labels?
