Photoflex softbox and speedring question

I have been warned against the regular photoflex speedring that would be used for the Paul Buff AB and White Lightning X strobes (I think there is an older white lightning model that would not use the same speedring as the x series, but not sure about this). I Chimera speed ring was recommended but before I buy I want to make sure I get the right one.

Does anyone have a Photoflex softbox and Chimera speed ring for current Paul Buff lights?

I am planning on the very large 72x54 softbox and do not plan on doing much set up and tear down. It will stay put in my garage studio.
