An LCD viewing . . . with EVF add-on what?
Do you know the definition of LCD and EVF?
As for cost, you have that factor backwards!

OVF responsiveness my foot, my $100 pocket camera has no lag. The ability of your eyes to adjust to the severe and extreme change in light intensity if more factor than the electronic view finder responsiveness. Try looking at a welding through an OVF.

I agree with you about common sense, specially for those who do not understand the technology or what they are talking about (LOL).

overall I think that the LCD viewing only will be the mainstream solution, with EVF add on for "enthusiasts" ... while optical DSLR's will also stay for enthusiasts due to cost (edit: ie there are whole systems, well functioning ones, based on it who will stay for the long run), and the fact that you cannot beat OVF responsiveness.

common sense is anything but common
