The end of the Ricoh camera brand?

Ricoh buys Pentax. Ricoh's brand is respected, but poorly marketed, and has a tiny market share, except in Japan. Pentax is respected, strongly marketed, and has a much larger global market share than Ricoh. So if you were the camera marketing boss at Ricoh, you would rebrand the Ricoh GXR system as a Pentax system, with Ricoh A12 and Pentax K-mount lenses and accessories. For fans of Ricoh's cameras, this is a good news as it will likely mean wider availability and lower prices as well as more a broader, more developed system.
