The new PENs: RawTherapee opens their .orf files

Just tried it with RawTherapee 2.4.1 on Linux (it's also available for other operating systems). And yes, it does open those .orf files, courtesy of the used dcraw converter, I suppose. So you might as well be lucky with other raw converters which use dcraw (see the maker of that fine software).

If I treat these files with the settings I would use for my wife's E-PL1 (my standard settings plus disabling of highlight recovery plus giving them a color boost of about 39 or so), I get close to the jpgs OOC, tho - as usual - RT doesn't have the "Olympus Special Sauce" for exactly the same colors.

But you can try those ISO200 .orf files from Imaging Resource and others today if you wish. No guesstimating necessary. And like I did in my own article at http://wolfgang.lonien.de/2011/06/the-beer-bottle-test/ you can actually compare them to other cameras you might already have (these pictures in my blog are also copyrighted Imaging Resource images, so I won't show them here - and no, I didn't show any of the new E-Px3s at that time, because the .orfs didn't exist yet).

Hope that will help,
cheers,
Wolfgang
