Need MBP to run faster.

I have a 2.33 GHz MBP Intel Core 2 Duo with Memory 2GB 667 MHzDDR2 SDRAM

and it often gets really slow. I have 160GB disc with 27BGs free which i know is marginal but should be enough free space to run just CS5 on ot's own. But ordinary things like Burning leave the whirling time rotate thingy goinf for ages.

Can i add more RAM to this machine, I have two 1 GB sat the moment. Would I get rid of one of those, or both and put 2GB cards in each slot.

Can anyone help here as to how to speed things up, this is driving me mad. I repair Prefs regularly.
