I also use D3s and the D7000. They complete each other very well.

D3S mostly for close-ups, macro, butterflies, hummingbirds in flight ON SHORT DISTANCE. For long distance shot with telelens, when distance is critical, and using 1000 or 1200 mm focal length, the D7000 with it's much higher resolution is the obvious choice.

Strange to read how many people who don't believe that you get substancially better picture results with D7000 compared to D300/S. The D7000 AF is good enough for good results of flight shots with big tele lenses.
