Sony hx100v or canon sx230 or kodak z990

I want to buy a new camera next month, these cameras are at at same price point with kodak just a bit cheaper. Which one should i go for in terms of quality?? on digital versus comparison it was surprisingly the kodak which gave the sharpest results. Size is not the first priority here, since i am upgrading from a point and shoot camera, i want to learn photography so i need proper manual controls, i dont need 16 megapixels of hx100v as 12MP are more than enough, maybe picture quality will be better at 12 MP, also sx230 can have raw with CHDK, so i am pretty confused between these cameras...
