Why Sony will win the CSC war...

If you've been to a Best Buy store in the US and taken a look at the camera section, you've likely seen this "end cap" on display. This is Sony's attempt at educating buyers about CSC's in general, and their camera system in particular.

The thing that you can't see in this photo, is the total lack of any CSC competitors at this particular Best Buy - that's because they don't carry them. This is a relatively small Best Buy location in an essential rural area on the outskirts of a major city in NC. Sony has made sure their CSC message is ubiquitous - it appears to be in every BB in the country. Panasonic, Olympus and Samsung, however, are only concentrating on certain stores in certain markets. This is why Sony will win. They have their messaging in line, and they have the resources dedicated to make sure it gets out there. Whether the Sony cameras are better than MFT or NX is inconsequential - you can't buy a camera you don't know about. One of the salespersons said the NEX system is selling "very well".

I don't want to try to predict the demise of MFT since I obviously love the format and feel they have a superior offering to NEX, but Olympus and Panasonic are not doing enough to make sure the format is successful in terms of getting the word out to consumers, and that's a real bummer.
