Countdown to the new S100 (S95 replacement)

Well, hopefully in about 2 months we should know all the specs on the upcoming S100 (S95 replacement).

With the LX5, XZ1, and the P300, Canon has alot banking on this new model. Just finished reading the following and thought we can only hope Canon hits a homerun:

http://www.ephotozine.com/article/panasonic-lx5-vs-canon-s95-vs-nikon-p300-15928

The S90 to S95 was relatively the same model and Canon needs to step up their game on the S100, especially after I read the Verdict: "The Canon is the smallest with full manual support, including RAW, but unfortunately suffers from the lowest battery life, least grip-able body, and doesn't allow the use of optical zoom in videos, however, if you need the smallest camera with manual controls it's worth a look. "

My wish list includes Canon addressing the following which many have highlighted and noted at digitalversus.com: "It's just a bit of a shame that the aperture drops so dramatically (from f/2 at 28 mm to just f/4.9 at 105 mm). In fact, whereas the Panasonic LX5 remains at f/3.3 at 90 mm, the S95 doesn't open wider that that from 50 mm."

Hoping for the S100 to finally get a true wide angle lens of 24mm. So far, looks like we are looking at a 28-140mm lens.
