First, congratulations on your upcoming marriage. Hope all goes well.

For macro, you might want to try aperature priority mode (A) and set a 5.6 or higher f stop if you want to capture something more than about a half an inch in depth. When you're in super-macro, the depth of field is very shallow and can easily lose part of flowers or insects if they are more perpendicular to the lens.

Low light is going to pose issues. If you don't want to edit with software, setting a higher ISO is going to be one of your choices. If you are just taking fairly stationary images within 12-15 feet of the camera, set the shutter speed to 1/60 second, ISO 100 (or 200) and use the flash.This is fairly standard for any camera.
