Possible K-5 Purchase
Jun 16, 2011

On a whim I e-mailed the local photo store and asked if they still take camera bodies in trade and roughly what would a K20 be worth. They responded $200 to $250 but I think they will go to $300 in person. I hadn't considered the K-5 before because I didn't want to have to lay out $1,500 or try and sell an obsolete K20. Now, however with the K-5 at $1,295 and the K20 worth around $300, I would only need to part with $1,000 for the upgrade. I like the K20 but the slow focus means that shooting anything that moves is just a game of luck and chance. I read the comparison of the K-5 and the Canon at the other forum and they say that the K-5 has improved greatly in the focus area but is still not up to the competition.

So, is it worth a grand to upgrade? For those of you who have it, will a K-5 allow you to track a moving subject (other than a turtle with a limp)?
