purchasing a used epson 7800 with clogged or empty yellow
Jun 15, 2011

dear forum:
i have been offered a used epson 7800. the problem is that the yellow is empty
and the printer has not been used since late last year.

at this point, a nozzle check would yield inconclusive results.

therefore, i wonder if it is worth the $500 risk??????

when the ink sits for so long, and the yellow is empty,

is there a chance it can irreparably damage or clog the head? or necessitate professional repair?

or will cleaning cartridges help the situation? or simply installing yellow ink and doing a power cleaning?

i am not sure if it worth the $500 or the risk?

any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks!
