Canon 60D - Dynamic range shadow push (vs Nikon D5100)
Jun 15, 2011

I came across this article, which shows quite a pronounced difference in favor of the Nikon D5100 over the Canon T2i's rather noisy/blotchy images, when pushing the shadows of their respective raw files in Lightroom v3.4: ( http://testcams.com/blog/2011/05/03/nikon-dx-vs-canon-aps-c-dynamic-range/ )

The author claims similar results would be applicable to the Canon 60D.

While DxO mark suggests a 2.1 Evs point advantage in dynamic range for the Nikon D5100 over the Canon T2i (as well as the Canon 60D), what is the actual experience of Canon 60D owners, when processing RAW files of images shot in such challenging lighting situations for better dynamic range and what RAW converter would you rather recommend to achieve better results for the Canon 60D?

Thanks

P
